Newgrounds is a brilliant site, but it's flash thieves and spam voters that completely ruin its brilliance. Thankfully, those damn chain reviews are gone...

If only there was a brilliant way to stop these things from happening...
Till then, we will have to try with the current system in place, and hope it works...

Yep, there are ways of stopping people from stealing flashes, but every wall has some way around it...
If you had a really good code, only the best would be able to steal it, though...

There are a few flashes that tell you those codes, I've re-found one...
Its probably not the best, but it works, I think...

well i was the same way, thinking that there cant be THAT many stolen flash movies on NG. usually i would flag some i have seen before on another website. i never looked for the signs of a stolen flash... also, some other ways to find stolen flashes:

at night- at night, there are usually the members that are on to do nothing. maybe on to waste time or something. mostly wont be that in to it, and knowing what is stolen, blamable etc. so will watch a movie, vote on it, and not noticing, helped pass a stolen flash.

on event days: case and point- clock day. that day, and usually 1 or 2 after it, everyone will vote 5s on flashes, passing them. people will submit stolen/ blamable flash movies just to get it passed on these days. actually, on the last one, i my self went up 5 B/P ranks just by passing them... but only on flashes with [CC] in the tittle or something to do with the clocks...

and, adding to what Take-Down said, original content is only original for a few seconds before getting old (rule 21 of the internet :P) A.K.A., after something is submitted on any site, many people will try and steal it, succeeding, and will be on many different sites... making it harder and harder to fins he original maker of a flash...

and really, if anyone flags a submission, it should be taken off until it can be reviewed by admins. but many people dont have the level to flag it in time... so, even though i dont think should spam a link in a review... this thread can help getting whistle levels up from reviews of flash movies:

i got out of garbage whistle from it, so getting higher from that can help with flagging flash movies.

well that got pretty long now didnt it? but hey, helping out with my points of this topic :D
and really, this, when it has a great amount of info to make it perfect, SHOULD be added to the FAQ or something!

Great advice from Infernalz, about marking reviews for whistle points...
You should also try really bad movies or games, some reviewers can't help but start insulting the artist...
If you're really desparate, crew movies have a fair amount of bad reviews...

I also agree that the submissions could be able to be flagged after judgement, since some flashes can take months before someone find out it's stolen.

The whole pinball thing happened to me to, infact it was that exact same one!

I'm not sure if I flagged it, but what you wrote about finding stolen flashes is pretty spot on.

Yeah you should be able to whistle after a submission passes judgement cause the chances are much higher that a person of experienced knowledge about whistling or stolen flashes will find it after it passes judgement. Its about an average of 250 votes to make a submission pass judgement, I wonder how many acually view the flash and base the score on the quality, not just vote based on clues (series, first flash, etc...).

i think your guide has some usefulness- but its too general... e.g.

"- games"
no- there are actually a lot more stolen flashes in my experience
"- submitted by noobs (Member for not that long)"
wrong- there have userS that had submitted quite a few flashes (30+) and then used the infamous file swap after a shit flash has passed judgement
- "the description is really short"
sometimes- but they always emphasise "I made this"
- the games great but the boxshot is really bad or it doesn't have one
i dont get what you mean by boxshot...
- flashes nobody has heard of
for some reason, if its a game, it normally is a defense ame...
- a low level (about 1-5) of the submitter
i dont get what you mean there either
- if a user has one stolen flash, they probably have more"
that is the case for a lot of the tmes

also, your point about that it happens at night is not true, because on teh intawebs, there IS NO 'NIGHT'- where theres night in London, theres day in America, where theres night in America, theres day in Australia ETCETERA...

the other points are true... i hope this helps... otherwise, i think this guide can be VERY helpful

What if the author's name isn't in the flash but instead another author's name? Like in the flash [Synergy] submitted by SpongeLock, instead of spongelock, there's Degi EArTH. Then you come across a blammed submission that lasted 4 or 5 days or so that got good reviews and had the same name as the flash?
